At the end of the lesson, students will be able to:

2. Learning Materials
Most people of Nepal are farmers. They live in stone or timber houses with thatched or slab rooting. They grow rice, which are their main crop, maize, barley, potatoes, and vegetables. Sheep are their main source of meat. Cows are keep to produce milk. Donkeys, mules, and douse are used to carry goods. Nepal is an isolated country so hardly any modernizing has occurred. They have few facilities and mainly live on their intensive subsistence agriculture (Taken from Written Genres in Secondary School by Hardy and Karwein, 1990).

Indonesia holds the 4th position in the world in terms of its population. It has got a very diverse population. Indonesian People belong to various religious groups. Indonesian People has got rich art and culture that are intertwined with their age-old tradition and religion. Cultural values brought by Portuguese and Dutch colonizers are added to this. Their culture is not only based on folklore as some of them are derived from the court culture. The dance dramas are primarily based on Hindu mythology. The craft works are mainly made up of wood, clay, metal, stone etc. A lot of designs are done on clothes with gold and silver threads. Intricate designs are visible on cotton and silk cloths. Indonesian People's lives are mainly guided by the ethics of mutual assistance.

Many people in China are farmers. Many grow rice. China grows more food than any other country. The Chinese also grow tea and soy beans. Many Chinese shop every day in open air markets to get the freshest foods for their family's dinner. Many Chinese people ride bicycles. The streets of China are crowded with bicycles. There are few cars outside the major cities in China.
Chinese people think it is very important to be polite and kind to others. The family is very important to the Chinese. Children listen and obey their parents and older people are loved and respected. Many people still practice the old ways of doing things in China. Some new ways are beginning to find their way into Chinese society, too. China is a country that is becoming more and more important to the nations of the world. The Chinese people believe the air is most densely charged with vital energy called chi at daybreak, and for thousands around the island the day starts with dawn exercises in parks. Individuals or groups gather to jog, dance, practice the gentle slow-motion of tai chichuan or the vigorous gymnastics of kung-ku.
